This office is where Mahendra Singh Naruka works, over at E-85-C, Vardhman Nagar-B. It’s right off Ajmer Road in Jaipur. Jvvnl is basically part of the furniture in Rajasthan. We deal with the electricity and the power lines that keep the city running. Jaipur gets incredibly hot, as everyone knows, and that’s when things get really busy for us. When the air conditioners are all running, the grid gets stressed, and we have to stay on top of things. The office in Vardhman Nagar is a typical government-style setup. We have lots of files, old wooden desks, and people coming in to talk about their bills or their connections. It’s not a fancy corporate environment. There is usually a bit of tea being passed around and a lot of talking. We don't use polished language because we are just locals trying to keep the power on. Sometimes the lines go down during a storm, and then it’s all hands on deck to fix it. We don't make big promises. We just try to get the lights back on as fast as we can. It’s a lot of practical, sometimes messy work. The 302011 area is our patch, and we know these streets pretty well. We see the same people every month. It’s just a normal part of life here in Jaipur, dealing with the heat, the wires, and the daily paperwork.
