Amritasri Dhaba

If you head over to No. 3864 in Johari Bazar, you’ll find us at Amritasri Dhaba. Johari Bazar is always packed, and our place is no different, especially around lunch and dinner time. It’s loud, it’s hot, and there’s always the smell of spices in the air. We don’t have fancy menus with photos or waiters in uniforms. It’s just a dhaba where you get a seat where you can and eat what’s fresh that day. The kitchen is small, and you can hear the clanging of pots from the street. I’ve been running this place for years, and my family helps out with everything from the cooking to the cleaning. We don't use any of those big marketing words like "authentic" or "traditional." We just cook the food the way we know how. Some days the onions are too expensive, and other days we run out of certain dishes early, but that’s just life in the bazar. People come in, they eat, they chat for a bit, and they go on their way. It’s a simple cycle. We aren’t trying to be a five-star restaurant. We’re just a place in Johari Bazar where you can get a hot meal that fills you up. The walls are a bit stained from the steam, and the chairs might wobble a little, but the food is honest, and that’s what matters to us. We’ll be here as long as people keep coming.
