Being in Johari Bazar means you’re right in the heart of things. Jewellery Shop India is one of those places where the day starts early with shutters going up all along the street. It’s a narrow area, usually crowded with people looking for something special or just window shopping. We’ve been sitting here for quite a while, watching the crowds go by day after day. Our shop isn't huge, but it's packed with stuff we’ve collected and made over the years. We spend a lot of time looking at stones and metal under bright lights. It can be hard on the eyes after a few hours of work. People come in looking for gifts or something for a wedding, and we just show them what we have on the shelves. There’s no big sales pitch here. We just talk to folks like neighbors. Johari Bazar has its own rhythm, and we are just a small part of that daily pulse. Some days are slow, and we just sit and drink tea while waiting for a customer, while other days we can barely catch our breath. We don't use much technology; it's mostly just paper ledgers and old-fashioned glass cases. It feels right that way. If you’re walking through the market, you’ll probably stumble upon us eventually. We like the history of the place and the way things haven't changed much in decades. It is home to us.
