Jewel Ace International

Our place, Jewel Ace International, is up on the first floor of Apex Mall, in units 210 and 211. It’s located in the Lal Kothi area off Tonk Road. Being in a mall is a bit different from a street-side shop, but it still has its own set of daily quirks. We spend a lot of time looking at very small things, which can be quite hard on the eyes by the end of the day. The lighting has to be just right, or we can’t see what we’re doing properly. It’s a small space, and we have several workbenches squeezed in together. We mostly keep to ourselves and focus on the pieces we are working on. There’s a lot of sitting involved. Sometimes the mall gets a bit noisy with people walking past, but inside the shop, it’s usually pretty focused and quiet. We don't have a lot of fancy furniture; we mostly just have what we need to get the job done. Every morning we open up, clean the glass cases, and start on the day's list. We have a few regulars who stop by to chat, which is nice. It’s not a massive operation, just a few of us trying to do decent work and keep things moving along. Sometimes we stay late when there’s a lot to finish, but that’s just part of the job. It’s a steady way to spend the day.
