About Irrigation Dept. Rajasthan Government – Metals & Minerals in Jaipur
Our office for the Irrigation Department of the Rajasthan Government is over in Malviya Nagar, Jaipur. The address is A-343, and it’s a place where we spend a lot of time worrying about water, which is a big deal here in Rajasthan. You can probably imagine that in a desert state, every drop counts. We aren't doing anything fancy or high-tech most days. It’s a lot of looking at old maps and trying to figure out how to get water to the furthest villages. The office itself is pretty plain. We have some old wooden desks and cabinets full of files that have been there for years. The heat in Jaipur can get pretty bad, so we rely on the old coolers to stay sane while we work. People walk in with all sorts of questions about their land or why a certain channel isn't flowing. We try to give them straight answers, even if it takes a while to find the right file. It's a busy atmosphere but not in a corporate way. More like a busy workshop where everyone is juggling three things at once. We don’t have a website that’s updated every day or a PR team. It’s just us civil servants trying to make sure the dams are okay and the canals aren't leaking. If you come by, you’ll probably find us mid-conversation about a project in some remote district. That’s just how it goes here.
