We have our yard set up at 129 Street No. 9 in Moti Nagar, just off Queens Road. It’s a place where we keep a lot of stone and marble. If you walk down the street, you can’t miss the big slabs leaning against each other. It’s a very physical business. We spend most of the day outside or in the open shed, moving these heavy pieces of stone around. It’s dusty and can get very hot under the sun, but that’s just how it is. We don’t have a showroom with fancy lights. The stone looks better in the natural light anyway. People come by when they are building a new house or maybe just fixing a floor. We walk them through the rows of stone and let them feel the different textures. Sometimes we have to move ten slabs just to get to the one at the back that someone wants to see. It’s hard work, and our clothes usually end up covered in stone dust by the end of the shift. We are just a local operation. We don’t have a website with a bunch of edited photos. What you see in the yard is what we have. We talk to the contractors and the homeowners, give them the measurements, and help them load up their trucks. It’s a basic, honest way of working that we have stuck to for years. The neighborhood is mostly industrial, so we fit right in.
