Indian Kangan

Tripolia Bazar is one of those places that feels like it’s been there forever. Indian Kangan is right in the middle of it at number 351. The bazar is a riot of colors and sounds, and our shop is just a small part of that bigger picture. We are surrounded by other shops selling all sorts of things, so there is never a quiet moment. At 351, we have our displays and the space where we stand all day. It’s not a large area, and it can feel quite tight when there are more than three people inside at once. The shelves go all the way up to the ceiling because we have so much to store. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of fans that blow the warm air around during the summer. We spend a lot of time talking to the people who walk past or stop in to see what’s on the shelves. It’s a very social way of doing business. We know the other shopkeepers along Tripolia Bazar and we often look out for each other. Sometimes we sit on stools outside the door when it’s slow, just watching the shoppers and chatting with neighbors. It’s a simple life at Indian Kangan. We’ve been at this address for years and we don't plan on moving anywhere else as it’s home for us now.
