Indian Auto Parts is tucked away in the middle of all the noise and traffic on M I Road, specifically at Jailal Munshi Ka Rasta 597. If you know this part of the city, you know how busy it gets with the horns honking and people constantly moving back and forth. Our shop isn't much to look at from the outside, just a regular place filled from floor to ceiling with shelves of metal parts, rubber hoses, and heavy boxes. Most of the day is spent with greasy hands, digging through the inventory to find a specific bolt or a clutch plate that someone’s mechanic told them to get. It gets pretty hot in here during the summer months, and the old ceiling fan does its best to move the air around while we work. We have been in this spot for a long time now, watching the shops around us change while we just keep doing the same thing. There is a certain smell here, a mix of engine oil and new tires, that never really goes away even after we close up for the night. We aren't interested in being fancy or having a shiny showroom. We just sit behind the counter, drink our tea from the stall next door, and help people find what they need for their vehicles. It’s a bit cramped inside at number 597, but we know where every single nut and bolt is kept.
