You can find our base camp on Agra Road, right across from the Novodaya Vidhyalaya in Bhandarej. This is our main spot for the work we are doing near Dausa. It’s a very rural area and the school is the main landmark for anyone trying to find us. We have our heavy equipment parked nearby and the camp is always buzzing with some kind of activity. The Rajasthan sun is no joke so we try to get most of the heavy lifting done in the morning. We live and work right here. The office is just a small part of the camp where we keep the logs and track the progress of the KM-173 stretch. It’s a lot of logistics. We have to make sure the fuel for the machines arrives and the workers have what they need. Sometimes the cows from the local village wander near the camp and we have to shoo them away. It’s a very down-to-earth way of working. We aren't interested in looking polished. We just want to make sure the road is built correctly. There is a lot of grit and determination involved in this kind of job. We take things one day at a time and deal with the challenges as they pop up in the heat. It is a slow process but we are making progress every single day out here.
