Hotel Holiday Home

Station Road is where we have our hotel, right across from the big Rajputana Palace Sheraton. It’s quite a contrast because that place is huge and we are just a regular hotel. The 302006 area is always full of people because of the proximity to the station. There are always rickshaws and taxis honking outside, and people carrying bags everywhere. Our building is a bit plain, but it’s easy to spot. We don't have a fancy reception desk with computers and all that. We mostly just use a big ledger book to keep track of guests. It’s an old-school way of doing things, but it works for us. The rooms are standard and we try to keep them clean for whoever is staying. The staff consists of a few local guys who know the city well. We spend a lot of time answering questions about where the best tea is or how to get to the market. It gets very hot here in the summer, so we are always checking the fans and coolers. We aren't trying to compete with the luxury hotels across the street. We just offer a place to stay that is close to the trains. It’s a busy life here on Station Road, and there is never a dull moment with all the travelers coming and going. We just do our part and keep the place going.
