Virat Govind Silalekh

You can find Virat Govind Silalekh over at Shop No. 13/10 in Sultaan Nagar, right near the Gurjar Ki Thadi area. We deal with stone work and engravings, so the shop is usually covered in a fine layer of white dust. It gets in your hair and on your clothes, no matter how much you try to brush it off. We have got a few heavy tables where we do the carving and some old tools that have seen better days but still do the job. The street outside is usually busy with traffic and people moving toward the main intersection. It is a noisy part of town, but we do not mind it much. We usually have the radio playing in the background to keep things lively while we work on the stone slabs. Most of what we do is for local people who need something specific for a building or a memorial. It is slow, careful work that takes a lot of patience. We do not have a big team, just a few of us who know how to handle the chisels and the grinders. The shop is not very large, so we have to store the bigger stones outside against the wall. It is a bit of a mess sometimes, but that is just the nature of working with stone. We start early to avoid the worst of the heat and finish up when the light gets too dim to see the lines properly.
