Grasim Industries Ltd.

This unit of Grasim Industries Ltd. is out in Kotputli, which is quite a drive from the main Jaipur city. We are primarily focused on the cement side of things here. It’s a big site, and there’s always dust in the air and trucks moving around. Our daily life is basically making sure the production stays on track and the loaders are doing their jobs. Rajasthan is a tough place for this kind of work because of the sun, but we get through it. The office is right on site, so it’s never quiet. You can hear the machinery hum all day long. We deal with a lot of drivers and contractors coming through the gates. It’s not the kind of place you wear a suit to. We’re usually in work gear, drinking tea and looking over the delivery notes. There is a lot to keep track of with the cement unit, and things can get messy if you aren't paying attention. We’ve got a good crew here who knows the ropes. We don't spend much time on fancy talk; we just need to know how many tons are going out and when the next batch is ready. It’s honest, hard work and the days go by pretty fast when the plant is running full tilt.
