The Grasim Cement office is handled by Vikas Yadav out of a place in the Sahad village and post area in Jhunjhunu. This is quite a rural part of Rajasthan, far away from the big city offices. The setup is very basic, as you might expect for a village location. It is mostly just a room with a desk and some chairs where we can sit and talk to the local people. Because we are linked to the Kotputali operations, there is always something to coordinate. The roads around here are a bit rough, and it gets very dusty when the wind picks up. Most of the people who come by are locals or drivers. We don't have air conditioning or fancy carpets. We rely on the ceiling fans and keeping the windows open when it isn't too hot. It is a very quiet place for the most part, except when a tractor or a truck goes past. We spend our time managing the local distribution and keeping track of the cement bags coming in and out. It is a practical way of working. We know the people in the village, and they know us. There is no corporate talk here. We just discuss the work that needs to get done for the day and make sure the supplies are moving correctly. It is honest work in a simple setting.
