Govindas Trade

You can find us in the Loha Mandi area, specifically on Radha Damodar Lane. It’s a bit of a maze back here in Chaura Rasta. We are right opposite the Tadkeshwar Mandir, so we hear the temple bells throughout the day, which is actually quite nice. The shop is filled with all sorts of metal goods and trading items. It’s a dusty business, honestly. There is always iron or steel being moved around somewhere nearby. We spend a lot of time checking our stock and talking to the laborers who help us. Sometimes the lane gets so blocked with carts that nobody can move for twenty minutes. We’ve stayed in this spot because it’s where all the action is for this kind of trade. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find fancy displays. We just have things piled up where they fit. We know most of the other shopkeepers around here, and we often share a quick meal or some tea when things are slow. Dealing with iron means your hands are always a bit dirty. We don't mind it much. It’s just the way it is. Customers come in looking for specific sizes and weights, and we go back into the stacks to find it. Some days are slow and we just sit by the door, while other days we don't even have time to sit down. We just keep at it and do our work.
