Girnita Impex Private Limited is tucked away in Bani Park at 107 Shrikant Pearl Divine. It’s on Kalidas Marg, which is actually a fairly nice, quieter part of town compared to the main markets. Our office is a straightforward place where we handle our import and export business. We’ve got our desks set up and some shelves for all the records we have to keep for the government. Running an impex firm from here means we spend a lot of time dealing with customs agents and suppliers over the phone. It’s a lot of back-and-forth, making sure the goods are what they say they are and that they get delivered on time. Sometimes the courier guys have trouble finding the building, so we end up standing out on the street to wave them down. It’s not a big corporate lifestyle at all. It’s more about sitting in front of the fan on a hot afternoon and trying to get through a stack of invoices. We know the local chai wala quite well by now. We started this because we saw an opportunity in the market and just decided to go for it. It’s had its ups and downs like any other small company, but we keep showing up every morning. We don’t have any fancy speeches about what we do. We just move products from one place to another and try not to let the paperwork get too messy. That is basically all there is to our daily routine here.
