G. P. Impex

If you’ve ever walked down Bapu Bazar, you know how crowded Dhula House Road gets. G. P. Impex is tucked in at number 34, right in the thick of things. It’s loud, it’s dusty, and there is always someone shouting about a delivery or a rickshaw getting stuck in the narrow lane. We deal with a lot of different stock, and the office is basically just stacks of boxes and a couple of old desks that have seen better days. We don’t have fancy air conditioning that works all the time, so we just keep the fans going and get on with it. Dealing with imports and exports from a place like this means you have to be okay with a bit of chaos. There’s always paperwork to fill out and people coming in to check on their orders. We’ve been in this part of town for a long time, so we know the other shopkeepers and the tea stall guy pretty well. It’s not the kind of place you come for a quiet meeting or a comfortable chair. You come here when you need to move goods and you want someone who actually picks up the phone. The stairs are narrow and the lighting could be better, but we’ve got everything organized in our own way. It’s a busy life here in the market, but it’s what we know and we’ve gotten used to the noise.
