El Tronics

El Tronics is located at number 69 in Badri Vihar, over in the Lal Sagar area of Jodhpur. Being in Rajasthan, we deal with a lot of heat and plenty of dust, so we’re always wiping down our benches and equipment. The shop is a straightforward setup with shelves full of components, wires, and various gadgets waiting to be looked at. We have a couple of soldering stations that are almost always hot because there’s usually something that needs fixing. It’s a local neighborhood, so we get a lot of people just walking in from Badri Vihar to ask a quick question or drop something off. We don’t have a fancy display window or anything like that; the front is mostly just a counter where we talk to folks. The walls are lined with plastic bins filled with tiny screws and parts that only we seem to be able to find. It can get a bit cramped when more than two people are working in the back, but we manage. We listen to the local radio while we work, and the sound of the desert wind is a constant background noise. It’s an honest way to spend the day, working with our hands and making sure the electronics actually do what they’re supposed to. We’ve been at this spot for a while and have become a small part of the Lal Sagar landscape. We just take things one repair at a time.
