District Head Quarter Hospital

Being right next to the Collector Office in Jajpur makes this a very busy place every single day. We get people coming in from all over the district, not just the folks living in the local town. The hospital building has been here quite a long time, and you can definitely see that in the wear on the walls and the floors. There is always a lot of movement. You see patients arriving at all hours, families waiting on the wooden benches, and nurses moving quickly between the different wards. It is often noisy, and sometimes the hallways get really packed with people. We handle everything that comes our way, from small scrapes and fevers to much bigger medical problems that require staying overnight. The staff stays busy from the early morning until very late at night. Sometimes the power flickers or we have to wait a bit for new supplies to arrive from the bigger city, but we manage with what we have on hand. It’s a big responsibility being the head quarter hospital for the area. We see people when they are having a really rough day, so we just try to keep things moving as smoothly as we can. The location is very easy to find because everyone knows where the Collector Office is. If you stand outside the front gate, you can see the cars and rickshaws constantly coming and going. It’s not a quiet or relaxing place, but it’s an important one.
