Dilip Handicrafts

We work out of a space in Sector-8, Vidhyadhar Nagar. The address is D-198. It’s more like a workshop than a store. You’ll find a lot of dust and tools lying around most days because we are always making something. We do different kinds of handicrafts. It’s the kind of stuff that takes time and patience. We have a few people who have been working with their hands for years. Sometimes the place is a bit of a mess with scraps of wood or metal or whatever we are using that week. We don't have a big sign out front or anything. Mostly, people come to us because they heard about what we make from someone else. It's not a fast process. Hand-making things means every piece ends up a little different. That’s just how it goes. Some days we spend more time fixing mistakes than finishing new items. We drink a lot of chai while we work. The area around Vidhyadhar Nagar is pretty decent, and it’s easy for us to get our materials delivered here. We don’t really have a set schedule; we just stay until the work for the day is finished. It’s a small operation, just a few of us trying to make a living doing what we know how to do. It’s honest work. Sometimes we get very busy before the festivals, and the whole place is packed with finished goods waiting to be picked up. We just do our best to keep things moving.
