Dhoom Creation

We’ve been here at 73 Vishnu Garden Colony for quite a while now. It’s right on Main Tonk Road, just opposite the airport boundary wall. You can usually hear the planes if it’s a quiet day, though it rarely is on this road. Dhoom Creation is basically just us working with fabrics and getting things ready every day. It’s not a fancy setup. Most of the time, the floor is covered in thread bits and scraps of cloth. We start early because the morning light is better for seeing the colors right. The shop gets a bit dusty since we are so close to the main road traffic, but we try to keep it tidy. Sometimes people get lost trying to find the colony entrance, but once you see the airport fence, you know you’re close. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who know how to handle the machines and cut the patterns. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going full blast. We mostly just focus on finishing the orders people left with us last week. There’s always a pile of ironing to do in the corner. We don’t really do much advertising. People usually just find us because they live nearby or saw the sign while driving toward the airport. It’s a simple life here, just making clothes and making sure the measurements are okay before things go out the door.
