Cloth Cafe

Pratap Nagar is a pretty lively area, and that’s where you’ll find Cloth Cafe at 65/595. Despite the name, we don’t actually serve coffee here, though we do drink a fair amount of it ourselves just to keep going through the day. It’s really just a place where we deal with all kinds of fabrics and clothing items. The space is a bit tight because we have racks and shelves everywhere you look. Every time I think we’ve organized the place, a new shipment arrives and we have to start all over again. It’s a bit of a mess, honestly, but we know where everything is. People from the neighborhood stop in quite a bit, sometimes just to see what’s new or to ask about a specific type of cloth. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us, some scissors, a lot of measuring tape, and the sound of the street outside. The light in the shop isn't great in the afternoons, so we usually have to keep the front door wide open. It’s a simple business. We get the cloth in, we sort it out, and we help people find what they need for their projects. It’s nothing fancy, just a regular shop in Pratap Nagar where we work hard and try to stay on top of all the piles of fabric that seem to grow every single week.
