Choudhary Battery

Our shop is right near the Sanganer Malpura Gate, which is a place that never really stays quiet. There is always a lot of dust from the road and the sound of horns blowing. We have batteries stacked up all over the floor and on the shelves. Most of our day is spent checking old batteries or setting up new ones for people who come in with car troubles. It is a bit of a greasy job and our hands are usually dirty by lunch time. We have been here for a while and the neighbors all know us. It is not a big fancy showroom or anything like that. Just a simple shop with some tools and a lot of heavy lifting. When the power goes out in the area, people come running for inverter batteries and things get really hectic. We try to keep the shop open late because you never know when someone’s tractor or truck is going to stop working. The floor is concrete and has some stains from the battery water, but that is part of the work. We sit on plastic chairs outside when it is not too hot. Sometimes we share tea with the mechanics from the shops nearby. It is just a regular life here at Malpura Gate, keeping the machines running and making sure people can start their engines when they need to go.
