Krishna Gems Arts is located in the Mandi Khatikan area, specifically at number 701 near Char Darwaja. It’s a historic part of the city, and we are right by the Bhomiyagi Ka Neem, which everyone around here knows. Working with gems and art in this neighborhood feels right because there’s so much tradition around us. Our shop is small and can get a bit cramped when we have a lot of stones to sort through. We don't have fancy jewelry cases or bright spotlights. Most of the work is done under simple desk lamps where we can see the details of the stones. The streets around Char Darwaja are narrow and always full of life, from street vendors to goats wandering around. It can be noisy, but we find it helps the day go by. We spend a lot of time looking at tiny details through magnifying glasses. Our hands are often stained from the polishing compounds we use. We aren't trying to be a high-end boutique. We’re more of a workshop where people who appreciate the craft come to find us. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in, or we just take a break and sit by the door. We don't have a big corporate structure. It’s just us doing what we know how to do, right here in the heart of the old city, keeping things as they’ve always been for years and years.
