Our little spot on Yudhister Marg is easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. We’re right there in C-Scheme, not too far from Hotel Shikha. It’s a quiet enough street most of the time, which is nice. I decided to open this because I was tired of everything being so processed and fake. Here, we just have stuff that's grown the way it's supposed to be. It’s a lot of work keeping things fresh and finding the right suppliers who actually do what they say they do. The shop is small. It gets a bit crowded sometimes when a new shipment comes in. We’ve got shelves full of grains and oils and whatever else we can get our hands on that's clean. It’s just me and a couple of others helping out. We spend a lot of time cleaning and rearranging things. It smells pretty good in here, like dried herbs and earth. People from the neighborhood drop by, some just to chat and some to pick up their weekly staples. We aren't trying to be some big supermarket. It’s just a local shop for people who care about what they eat. Sometimes we run out of things because the farms had a bad week, but that’s just how it goes with real food. We do our best to keep the stock up. It’s a nice way to spend the day, talking to people about their gardens or their cooking.
