C. S. Handicrafts is tucked away at 1227, Ajab Ghar Ka Rasta, right in the middle of Kishanpole Bazar. If you know the bazar, you know how busy it gets. There are people everywhere, bikes zooming past, and the smell of street food. Our shop is quite small and it is packed from floor to ceiling with all sorts of handcrafted items. We have been here for a very long time. It was my grandfather's place originally. We don’t have a lot of room to move around inside, especially when we get a new delivery of stock. Everything is made by local artisans we’ve known for years. We don’t really have a website or anything like that. People just wander in while they are shopping in the bazar. The lighting is a bit dim in the back of the shop, but it adds to the character, I suppose. We spend a lot of time unwrapping items and checking them over. Sometimes we sit on small stools by the entrance just to catch a bit of a breeze. It’s a lot of work keeping track of all the small pieces, but we enjoy it. We don't bother with fancy displays. We just put things where they fit. It's a bit of a squeeze, but it works for us. If you visit, you’ll likely find us drinking chai and talking to the neighbors while we wait for customers.
