If you walk down Rasta Gopal Ji Ka in Johari Bazar, you will find us at number 75. This area is famous for being crowded and lively, and our shop is right in the middle of all that action. The street is narrow, so you have to watch your step with all the rickshaws and people moving about. We open up the shutters every morning and sweep the front area before the heat really kicks in. It is an old building with a lot of character, though the stairs can be a bit creaky if you go up. Inside, the lights are bright because you need to see things clearly in this business. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who have known each other for years. We spend a lot of time talking to folks who wander in, some who have been coming to this street for generations. The fans hum in the background all day long. Sometimes we sit on the floor cushions if we’re doing a long inventory check. It gets quite dusty because of the open doors, so we are always wiping down the glass counters. We aren't trying to be the biggest or the loudest shop on the block. We just like our spot here in the bazar and the way the afternoon light hits the entrance. It is a busy life but it feels right for us at number 75. We just keep things simple and honest while we work in this old neighborhood.
