Banshi Lal Gupta & Co

We are based out of the Rajdhani Krishi Mandi on Sikri Road, specifically at the B 11 plot. Our name is Banshi Lal Gupta & Co, and we’ve been part of the Chandpole Bazar scene for a long time. The mandi is a hectic place to work. From early morning, the whole area is filled with the sound of carts and people negotiating prices. We deal mostly with agricultural goods coming in from the nearby farms. My brothers and I take turns managing the floor and talking to the transporters. It is a lot of paperwork, mostly receipts and handwritten notes piled up on the desk. The office is small and usually has a few people sitting around drinking tea and waiting for their loads to be cleared. We don't bother with much decoration; the walls are just plain, and we have calendars from three years ago still hanging up. It’s about the trade here, not how the place looks. We have seen many changes in how the mandi operates, but the basic work stays the same. You have to be here early if you want to get anything done. Some days are slow, and we just sit and watch the rain or the heat waves, but usually, it's just one truck after another. We try to be fair and just keep the business running like our father did.
