If you ever find yourself driving down Road No. 9-A in the V.K.I. Area, you’ll see our place at D-469. It’s a big industrial zone, so there is always a lot of noise and trucks moving around at all hours. We’ve got a lot of people coming in for different shifts, some starting when it’s still dark and others leaving long after the sun goes down. The building itself is pretty standard for this part of town, nothing too special to look at, just a lot of concrete and metal. Inside, it’s always humming with the sound of the lines moving. There’s a lot of heat in certain sections, especially during the summer months when the air feels thick and the fans just move the hot air around. We spend a lot of time looking at parts and making sure everything is sitting where it should. The supervisors walk around with their clipboards, and there’s always a bit of a rush to meet the numbers for the day. Sometimes the tea break is the only time the place goes quiet for a few minutes. We get visitors from all over, but mostly it’s just the regular crew doing the same tasks they’ve done for years. It’s a busy life here in the industrial area, and there is always something that needs fixing or a machine that needs oiling. We don’t spend much time worrying about how things look; we just focus on getting the daily work finished.
