Architects Of Time

Architects Of Time is based in Malviya Nagar, specifically at 10/976. If you’ve ever walked around Malviya Nagar, you know how busy and cramped the streets can get, and our little corner is no different. We chose the name because we think a lot about how long a building stays around, but on a daily basis, we are mostly just worried about deadlines and getting the drawings right. Our office is a bit of a mess, to be honest. There are books everywhere and sketches pinned to the walls. We are a small team and we spend a lot of time debating over small things like where a window should go or what kind of brick to use. It isn't a high-pressure corporate environment. We usually have the radio on and someone is usually making tea. We do a lot of residential work in the neighborhood, so we understand the local constraints and the quirky rules of building in Delhi. Sometimes we get frustrated with how slow things move with the authorities, but we just keep pushing through the paperwork. We don't try to sound like we know everything. We just learn as we go and try to make spaces that people actually feel comfortable in. It’s a lot of hard work and sometimes the hours are long, but we like being right here in the middle of the city. It feels like we are part of the daily life of the place.
