You can find Agarwal Marbles & Ind. at B-73 on Road No. 1-C in the V.K.I. Area. It is a large industrial zone, and our yard is usually packed with big marble slabs from top to bottom. It’s a heavy and dirty business. We have to use cranes and forklifts all day long just to move things from one side of the yard to the other. The ground is almost always covered in a fine layer of white stone dust. We’ve been at this specific location for a good number of years. We deal with a lot of raw stone that comes in directly from various quarries. Then we have to spend time sorting it by color, pattern, and quality. It’s not really an exact science. Every single piece of marble is different, which makes the work interesting but also quite a challenge sometimes. We enjoy showing people around the yard so they can pick out the specific slab they want for their own house. We don't use any high-pressure sales pitches here. We just let the natural beauty of the stone speak for itself. If a slab has a vein or a mark that a customer doesn't like, we just move it aside and show them another one. It involves a lot of walking around in the hot sun. The office is just a small, simple room where we handle the bills and transport papers. It’s honest work and we like being part of the V.K.I. industrial community.
