Adarsh Paint

Adarsh Paint is located right at Plot No. 14 in Jeevan Deep Colony. Since we are so close to the Delhi-Ajmer Expressway, there is a constant hum of trucks and cars going by at all hours. The shop is basically a lot of heavy shelves and stacks of cans that we move around all day. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting things and making sure we have what people need when they pull up. The colony itself is a bit quieter once you move away from the main road, but our spot stays pretty active. We’ve got some old wooden benches where we sit when things slow down for a minute in the heat of the afternoon. The floor has a few splashes of different colors from over the years where lids weren't on tight or someone tripped. It gives the place a bit of character, I suppose. We don't spend much on advertising or anything like that, we just stay open and wait for the local contractors or neighbors to drop in. Sometimes the expressway traffic makes it hard for people to turn in, so we see them doing u-turns further down. It’s a simple setup with a metal shutter and a small desk where we keep the ledger. Most of our time is spent just organizing the stock and talking to people about what they are working on at home or at their job sites. It’s a good way to spend the day.
