Abhishek Tiwari Interior Design is located at 4068, Chandpole Bazar, which is one of those old, iconic parts of Jaipur. Our office is near the Ram Mandir, so it’s easy to find if you know the area. Chandpole is always crowded and noisy, with rickshaws and people everywhere, and we’re right in the thick of it. The office itself is a bit small and cluttered with fabric swatches, wood samples, and blueprints rolled up in corners. We do a lot of our work on site at different buildings, but this is where the planning happens. It’s not a polished studio with fancy lights. It’s a working space where things get messy. We spend hours looking at colors and trying to figure out how to make things fit in tight spaces. Sometimes we have to shout over the noise from the bazar outside just to be heard. We’ve got a few old tables pushed together to make a workspace. The walls are covered in sketches and notes taped up wherever there was room. It’s a very practical way of working. We often walk down to the local tea stalls when we need a break from the drawings. The electricity can be a bit temperamental in this part of the city, so we have a few rechargeable lamps for when the lights go out. It’s just how it is working in the old city. We focus on the projects and the materials we have.
