Abacus Consultants is tucked away in Sector-4 of Jawahar Nahar. The address is 14 Kha, which can be a bit tricky to find if you aren't familiar with the Jaipur street layouts. We’ve been here for a good bit now. It’s a quiet enough street compared to the main roads, which is nice when you’re trying to concentrate. The office is basically a few rooms where we keep our files and computers. We don't have a big reception desk or a person waiting to greet you with a script. Usually, whoever is closest to the door just opens it. Jaipur gets really hot, so we spend a lot of time making sure the coolers are topped up with water. Our daily life here is pretty standard. We arrive, we check what’s on the list for the day, and we get to it. Sometimes we sit out front for a break when the weather allows. It's a local operation, so we know the neighbors and the guy who sells tea at the corner. We aren't trying to look like a multinational corporation. We just want a place that works for us. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, and the shelves are a bit crowded with old binders, but everything has its place. It’s an honest workspace where we just do our jobs without much fuss or fanfare. We just handle the tasks that come our way each morning.
