Being located over in Kartarpura near the Dhobi Mod B 8 has its moments. We’ve been running A One Architects Pvt Ltd from this spot and it’s a busy little corner of Bhagwati Nagar. Most mornings start with us clearing off the desks to make room for the big blueprints. We do a lot of sketching and then some computer work, but usually, it involves a lot of back and forth with the clients. It isn't a flashy place, just some desks, chairs, and a lot of pens that seem to go missing. We spend a good chunk of our day driving out to sites to see if the pillars are going up the way we drew them. Sometimes they aren't, and then we have to spend the afternoon figuring out a fix. It’s just the reality of building things. We get a lot of people from the neighborhood dropping by to ask questions about their own home repairs. It’s nice being part of the Kartarpura community because you get to see the houses actually getting built from the ground up. We don’t use any fancy talk here; we just focus on getting the lines straight on the paper so the house stays up. The office gets a bit dusty with all the construction nearby, but we don’t mind it much. It’s just how it goes when you’re in this line of work. There are always people coming and going around the Dhobi Mod, so it never gets too quiet.
