A Infrastructure Ltd is based at 214 M I Road, which is a pretty central location. Our office is usually a bit of a mess with blueprints rolled up in corners and samples of gravel or concrete sitting on the windowsills. We spend about half our time here and the other half out at various sites around the city. It’s not a fancy corporate headquarters with glass walls and a lobby. Instead, it’s a place where we sit down to figure out timelines and costs. You will often see someone coming in with dusty boots after checking on a project. We have a few old computers and a large printer that makes a lot of noise when it’s working on the big drawings. Our team is small, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, from answering the door to checking the safety gear. M I Road is always busy, so we hear the honking and the street noise all day long. We don't have a receptionist, so if the phone rings, whoever is closest just picks it up. It is a practical way of working. We’ve been involved in a lot of small projects nearby, mostly things people don't notice but that are necessary for the buildings to work right. We just focus on the next job on the list and try to keep our paperwork in some kind of order, even if the folders are a bit worn out.
