Daljit Engineering Works

Our workshop is located on Sahni-Bilga Road, right across from the railway container yard. It’s a loud area with the trains and trucks constantly moving, but it suits what we do here at Daljit Engineering Works. We do a lot of metalwork and repair jobs for local businesses and farmers. Usually, the day starts early with the sound of machines warming up. There is always grease on someone's hands and a pile of scrap metal in the corner waiting to be sorted. We don't spend much time on fancy decorations or office furniture. The money goes into the tools and the lathe machines. When a piece of equipment breaks down nearby, people usually bring it over to see if we can fix it or make a replacement part. It's gritty work, and the floor is never really clean no matter how much we sweep. We've been in this spot for years, watching the container yard get busier and busier. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside, but you get used to it. We keep a small crew who knows how to handle the heavy stuff. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop around, just the one that stays open until the job is actually finished. It feels good to see something leave the shop working better than when it arrived. That’s just how things go here day to day. We don't ask for much, just a fair day's pay for a solid job done.
