Naman Bastar

This place is out on Chitrakote Road in the village of Palli. Bastar is a beautiful area, but it’s quite far from the big cities. We started Naman Bastar to give people a place to stay when they come to see the waterfalls or just explore the woods around here. It’s not a busy street like you find in Raipur or elsewhere. Mostly, it’s just the sound of birds and the occasional tractor going by. The building is simple and we try to keep the grounds looking okay. We have a few people from the village working here with us. They know the land well. Life moves a bit slower in Palli. We spend a lot of our time making sure the guest rooms are ready and the garden isn’t getting overgrown. It’s a lot of manual work. Sometimes the power goes out, or the rain gets really heavy during the monsoon, and we have to scramble to keep everything dry. People come here to get away from the noise, so we try to keep things peaceful. We don’t have much in the way of big entertainment, just the nature outside. We cook local food mostly, whatever is available at the market nearby. It’s a humble setup, but it works for us. We’ve lived in this part of Chhattisgarh for a long time and we like being out here where the air is clear. It’s just us doing our thing on the road to the falls. We don't change much because we like it this way.
