Out in Village Sonarpal, within the Tehsil of Basta in the Bastar district, is where Bhanuprakash Chawal Udyog is located. It is a quiet place compared to the big cities, but there is always plenty of work to do with the rice. We are based right at the post of Sonarpal. The life here follows the seasons of the crops. When it is harvest time, everything gets very hectic and we are working from sunrise to late into the evening. Bastar is a beautiful area, but the work we do is very practical and grounded. We deal with local farmers and help process what they bring to us. It is not a flashy business. We don't have a website or a big advertising budget. Most people around here just know us because we have been in the village for so long. We spend a lot of time maintaining our equipment and making sure the storage areas are dry and clean. It is a constant cycle of loading and unloading. Sometimes the roads in the village get difficult during the monsoon, which slows everything down, but we manage. We are just a small part of the local economy here in Sonarpal, doing our bit with the rice and trying to keep everything running smoothly year after year. It is a simple life and a simple business that keeps us going every day.
