The mill sits right on the corner where Collage Road meets the Main Road. It is a pretty loud place whenever the machines are running, so people usually hear us working before they even see the building. Rajiv Lochan Rice Mills Pvt. Ltd. has been operating at this spot for a long time. This is not a modern factory with robots or high-tech sensors. We have some older equipment that needs a lot of manual oiling and constant care to keep it moving. The guys who work here have been with us for a long time and they know exactly how to handle the grain so it does not get ruined. We deal with many local farmers who bring their harvest in on tractors. Sometimes the lines get long out on the Main Road, and we have to go out and tell the drivers to move so they do not block the path. It is a lot of physical work and our clothes usually end up covered in white dust by noon. We do not have a big fancy office for meetings. Most of our paperwork gets done on a small wooden desk near the front gate. It is always cluttered with old ledgers and pens that barely work. We are just a regular mill doing our daily job.
