S. S. Marine Export

We are located at D-2/6 in the Industrial Estate over in Paradeep Garah. Being in the Jagatsinghpur district, we are right where we need to be for the marine export business. The air always has a bit of salt in it and you can hear the activity from the port nearby. Our days are tied to the tides and the arrival of the boats. When the catch comes in, everyone is on their feet and moving fast. We handle a lot of ice and crates, so it’s a damp and cold environment to work in, but we are used to it by now. The office is just a small part of the building, mostly used for the export documents and the phone calls to international buyers. We don't have fancy furniture because it would just get ruined by the humidity and the salt air anyway. It’s a rugged kind of life, and the people who work here are tough. We’ve been operating out of this estate for years and we know all the other business owners nearby. We usually grab a quick snack from the local vendors during our breaks. There’s no point in trying to sound corporate when you spend your day dealing with fish and logistics. We just make sure the containers are packed right and the temperature is where it should be before they head out to sea or on trucks.
