Vinod Kirana

Our shop, Vinod Kirana, is at 34 Kundam Road in the Ghamapur area of Jabalpur. We are right by Bhatnagar Hospital, which means we see a lot of people who are visiting patients or working at the clinic. Because of that, we try to keep things that those folks might need, like bottled juices, biscuits, and basic toiletries. The shop itself is a bit dusty because of all the traffic on Kundam Road, but we try to keep the counters wiped down. We have large metal bins for things like sugar and flour, and we weigh everything out on an old scale. It’s not a modern supermarket by any means. It’s just a simple room with shelves from floor to ceiling. The lighting is a bit dim in the back, but we know where every single packet is tucked away. We spend a lot of our time talking to people who are waiting for someone at the hospital. It’s a busy road and the noise of the horns is always there in the background. We don't have any big slogans or anything. We just keep the shop open late most nights because you never know when someone might need something from a kirana store. It’s a lot of sitting and waiting, then a sudden rush of people, and then back to being quiet again. It is a very normal part of the Ghamapur neighborhood.
