You can find Singhai Kirana Stores at House No 1943 in the Cherital area of Jabalpur. We are right besides the Desi Wine Shop, which makes it an easy landmark for anyone trying to find us. The shop is a typical local store where we keep all the things a household might need during the week. We have sacks of grain stacked up in the corners and shelves filled with spices, soaps, and packaged snacks. Working here means seeing a lot of different people every day. Some people are in a hurry and just want their packet of milk, while others like to stand and chat for a bit while we pack their groceries. Jabalpur can be quite dusty, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the jars and the counter. It isn't a very large space, but we try to fit as much as possible so nobody leaves empty-handed. There is no fancy lighting or big signs, just the name on the board and the smell of spices in the air. We open up early and close late, especially on weekends when everyone is doing their big shopping. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the road for a bit, but that is just part of being in this part of town.
