If you walk down East Kariya Pather in Ghamapur, you will find us at number 1111. We are quite close to the Sheetla Mai temple, so we get a lot of people who are on their way to pray. I usually stock extra incense sticks and small packets of sweets for that reason. Jabalpur can be a busy place, but this corner feels a bit more like a community. I’ve been running the Shri Krishna General Store for years now. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but they are covered with shelves anyway so it doesn't matter much. We have all the basic household things like buckets, mops, and everyday kitchen items. I use an old metal scale for some things and a small digital one for others. My son helps me in the evenings when he is back from his college. We talk to everyone who comes in, mostly about the weather or how the local market is doing. The shop is small and the lighting is just a few long tubes that flicker sometimes. I keep a small water pot for anyone who is thirsty. It is a honest way to earn a living. We don't do anything special or have big sales. We just try to keep the things people in Ghamapur need on a daily basis. It’s a comfortable routine for me.
