Shilandia Foundation

Our office is at 2134 in Wright Town, right by the stadium. Most people know the spot because we are also quite close to Mahakaushal Hospital here in Jabalpur. It’s a busy part of town, especially when there’s a game or a lot of people heading to the hospital. We started Shilandia Foundation just to have a place where we could work on local issues. We aren't some big group from Delhi or Mumbai. We are just Jabalpur folks. Sometimes it feels like there is so much to do that we don't know where to start. We deal with all sorts of things that come our way. People stop by after visiting the hospital sometimes just to talk or ask for help. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment or a big budget. It’s just a desk, some chairs, and us trying to figure things out. The noise from the stadium can be a lot on some days, but it keeps things lively. We’ve been in this 482001 area for a while now. We know the shopkeepers and the rickshaw drivers around here. It’s just a regular local foundation. We do what we can with what we have. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until evening. That’s really all there is to it. If the door is locked, we are probably just down the street at the hospital or getting lunch. We try to be around as much as possible for the neighbors who might need a hand with something.
