Our small factory is in Simaria village, which is part of the Jabalpur district. We are very close to the petrol pump, so that is how most people find us. If you smell the fumes from the pump and see a lot of cement bags, you are in the right place. We do industrial work here. It is mostly stuff for the local market around the district. The building isn't much to look at, just some bricks and a tin roof that gets really loud when it rains. We have about five or six people working here regularly. They are all from Simaria or the next village over. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just try to make enough items to fill the orders we get for the week. The work is heavy. My back usually aches by the time I go home at night. We have an old tractor that we use for moving heavy things around the yard. It is noisy and leaks a bit of oil, but it gets the job done. We drink a lot of tea to stay going throughout the day. Most people who come here are looking for materials for their own houses or small local projects. We just talk to them, show them what we have, and settle on the price. It is a very local way of doing things, and we like it that way. No big city talk here.
