Seetu General Store

Seetu General Store is out in the Gram Post-Bargi area, within the Majholi tehsil of Jabalpur. Being in a village area like this is different from being in the city. Things move much slower here. Our store is a place where people from the nearby farms come to get their supplies. We have to keep a bit of everything because it’s a long way to the main city markets. I stock seeds, basic tools, and heavy sacks of grain, along with the usual tea, sugar, and soap. The building is simple, made of brick and cement, and it stays quite cool. I often sit outside on a wooden bench when there are no customers, watching the tractors go by on the road. The post office is nearby, so people often stop in after they finish their business there. I know almost everyone who walks through the door, and we usually spend more time talking about the crops or the weather than actually shopping. It’s a quiet life, but I like it. Sometimes the supply truck doesn't come on time because of the roads, so we have to make do with what we have on the shelves. It’s not a fancy place, just an essential stop for the people living in Bargi and Majholi. We open when the sun comes up and we close when the last of the farmers heads home for the night.
