The shop is right there on Street Number 15, right beside the Kali Mandir in Sadar Bazar. If you are from around Jabalpur, you probably hear the temple bells while you are standing at our counter. We’ve kept this place running because people need their daily supplies without having to travel too far into the main city traffic. It’s a bit cramped inside, especially when we get a fresh delivery of rice bags or cooking oil tins. We try to keep everything where we can find it quickly, but sometimes things get shuffled around. My father used to sit here, and now I do, mostly chatting with the regulars who come in for their monthly ration. We don't really do big advertisements or anything. Most people just know we are here by the temple. The floor is old stone, and the wooden shelves have been there for years. We sell mostly the basics—sugar, tea, some snacks for the kids, and household cleaners. It gets quite busy in the evenings when everyone is heading home from work and realizes they forgot to buy milk or salt. We stay open until late because that’s when the neighborhood really wakes up. It is a humble business, nothing too special to look at, but we make sure the weights are fair and the goods are what people expect for their daily meals.
