R King General Store

R King General Store is over in Kachnar City, specifically in the Vijay Nagar Colony area of Jabalpur. If you know the big Shiva statue, we are not too far from there. The neighborhood is mostly families, so we stock a lot of things for the kitchen and for kids. We have chips, chocolates, different brands of soap, and all the usual grains. The shop floor is tiled but some of them are cracked from moving heavy crates around. We have a small fridge for cold water and sodas which is very popular during the summer months. Jabalpur gets really hot, so the fan is always running. We don't have a lot of help, just me and my son sometimes. We spend a lot of time organizing the shelves so things don't fall over. The front of the shop has a small step that people always trip on if they aren't looking. We have been meaning to fix it for a while now. The morning time is usually quiet, giving us time to clean up and check what is running low. By the time school lets out, it gets quite noisy with children coming in for snacks. We just keep doing our work every day without much fuss. It is a decent way to stay connected with the people living in Vijay Nagar. We keep things simple and just try to be there when someone needs a bag of salt.
