Prateek Agrawal

I’ve been based here at Bada Fuhara in Jabalpur for a long time. My name is Prateek Agrawal and this is where I spend most of my waking hours. If you know this part of the city, you know how loud and crowded it gets. There’s always someone shouting or a horn honking right outside the window. It’s the heart of the market, so there’s never a dull moment. My office isn't anything special to look at, just a practical space where I can focus on the tasks at hand. People come by with all sorts of things they need help with. I don't use a lot of big words or try to act like I'm more than I am. I’m just a local guy working in a local business. Some days are incredibly busy and I barely have time to eat my lunch, while other days are a bit slower and I can actually catch up on the filing. The humidity in the summer gets pretty bad here, but we have a fan that does its best. Living and working in Jabalpur has its own rhythm. Bada Fuhara is a landmark for a reason, and I'm glad to be part of the scenery here. I keep the door open mostly so the air circulates, even with all the noise. It feels real and grounded to be right in the middle of all this activity every day.
