Pandey Kirana Store

This shop has been here at House No 1411 on Chota Fuhara Road for a long time now. We open up pretty early in the morning because the people living around Milloniganj Chowk start their day fast. Usually, it is just me or one of the boys standing behind the counter, handing out packets of dal, sugar, or whatever soap someone needs for their bath. Jabalpur can get quite busy, especially on this road, so there is always some noise from the traffic outside while we weigh out the rice. We try to keep things organized on the shelves, but sometimes when a big shipment of sacks comes in, it gets a bit crowded inside the store. It is not a fancy place, just a regular kirana where you can get your kitchen supplies without any fuss. Most of our customers are neighbors who have been coming to us for years. They know where we keep the tea leaves and the spices. Sometimes the electricity goes off in the afternoon, so we just sit by the door where there is a bit of light and wait for the next person to walk in. We don't really do anything big or special here. We just make sure the stock is full so when you come asking for a specific brand of oil, we actually have it sitting there. We might forget to smile sometimes when it’s busy, but we get the job done. It is just a simple way to earn a living in this part of the city.
